Christian Academy

Christian Academy is an interdenominational Bible School, which began twelve years ago, founded and managed by Plumbline Ministries. Since then around 1200 students have enrolled for our courses. Christian Academy is designed for busy Christians - students may enrol for two years of study, complete the course over a longer period of time, or enrol for individual modules. Students studying on our courses come from many varied backgrounds, and from a wide variety of denominations and new churches.

Christian Academy also gives students the opportunity of studying additional modules by open learning - working flexibly from home. Distance learning is offered to students on the full course who live too far away to travel to our teaching centre.

The majority of students study on the full course, attending lectures in our centre, which this year will be in Newmarket. Two modules, or one module and two half modules, are covered each term. Each module has 12 hours of teaching—3 Tuesday evenings and one Saturday. A home assignment is set for each module, and there is a tutor feedback sheet to fill in at the end of the module. Set books are provided as part of the course for some modules, and a recommended book list is also given to students.

We aim to provide a variety of modules—some with more in-depth teaching, for example Understanding the Bible, and some more impartational, for example Prayer. We use lecturers who are gifted in teaching their specific modules. Many already teach at other Bible Colleges, and/or have had training in the past, and/or lead churches in the area.
