Leadership And Ministry Training

Leadership and Ministry Training is a course for those seeking to serve effectively within the local church, whether full-time, part-time or on a voluntary basis.  It will be particularly helpful to cell group leaders, youth and children’s workers, and pastoral staff.

The course is led by Simon Matthews, who has over 38 years’ experience in ministry from which he will share. Other members of Plumbline Ministries will also share during the course of the training. Each session will include teaching, group work, open discussions and an opportunity for questions. A small amount of study/preparation will be required for each session.

Subjects to be covered include:

• The character of a leader
• Leadership and management skills
• Developing and implementing vision, strategy and goals
• Time management, organising self and the ministry
• Deciding on and starting new projects
• Developing, leading and managing teams
• Pastoring skills
• Conducting baptisms, weddings and funerals
• Counselling skills
• Sermon preparation and communication skills
• Ministering healing and deliverance
• Growing good children's and youth work
• Raising and managing church finances
• Effective church government
• Handling cohabitation, divorce and remarriage
• Handling church discipline, division and splits
• Developing and growing a cell structure
• Growing a worship team and worshipping church
• Making disciples(training/mentoring)

The course will run over three weekends:

• 23-25 March 2012
